What happens to a registered or personal delivery letter?

With the GTC, PEAX users accept that registered letters may be accepted by the Scanning Centre.

Upon receipt at the Scanning Centre, registered letters are considered delivered. The documents are scanned and placed in your PEAX mailbox.

In contrast to registered letters, the value-added service “personal handover” of mail itmes (ID check) cannot be accepted by our scanning centre, as they may only be accepted in person and by the recipient.

The process at the post office stipulates that letters with ID-Check should not be diverted as a matter of principle. If this does happen, the postal delivery office at the location of our scanning centre is instructed to forward these letters directly to you.

A letter with an ID check remains in the postal process until it has been received by you or returned by the post office to the sender; PEAX has not any touch points with a letter with an ID check at any time.
