Why are there different ID levels? What’s the difference between them?

The higher your ID level, the more functions available to you in the PEAX portal. ID level 2 is required to be able to use all that PEAX has to offer, including mail forwarding and PEAX payment. We therefore recommend activating ID level 2 from the start.

If you have a Basic subscription or higher, you’ll need ID level 2 to make full use of everything included in your subscription.

ID level 2: Verification of your residential address by registered mail

  • A Basic subscription or higher will allow you to enable mail forwarding and make full use of the digital postbox.
  • You can take full advantage of PEAX Payment, either by linking it to your bank account or by using prepayment.
  • Two-factor authentication must be set up for security and identification purposes.
  • You can create a business account at any time (company listed in the Commercial Register, company not listed in the Commercial Register or an association).

ID level 1: Verification of your residential address by first-class (A) mail

  • You can use the upload function and peaxbox email address as delivery channels in your portal, but you won’t be able to enable mail forwarding.
  • You can pay invoices via prepayment.
  • Two-factor authentication is optional.

ID level 0:

  • Temporary phase until the activation code for ID level 1 or ID level 2 has been entered.
During this phase, you can only upload.
